AFTER a £300,000 refurbishment, a Northwich care home is getting ready to unveil its new rebranded look to the community.
Avandale Lodge (soon to be Acorn Meadow) Care Home in Lostock Gralam is welcoming councillor Sam Naylor as its guest of honour to open its doors today, Wednesday.
The mayor will officially welcome members of the public to the care home’s open day, which starts at 2pm, and will make a speech, cut a ribbon and unveil a plaque to open the newly refurbished, upgraded and rebranded home.
Residents and colleagues are delighted to be celebrating the changes – including the home’s new name: Acorn Meadow Care Home.
Acorn Meadow will create a stronger alignment with HC-One’s sister home, Acorn Hollow, which shares the same site on Manchester Road, and will continue to provide a wider offering as a family of HC-One care homes in Northwich.
The 48-bed care home has undergone a significant investment and refurbishment programme totalling just under £300,000.
The programme will provide a modernised living environment designed to enhance the quality of life for residents, including dementia-friendly colour schemes and dedicated communal wellbeing areas.
The refurbishment works are part of HC-One’s £54.5 million refurbishment and upgrade programme which will benefit 221 HC-One homes.
There will be a whole host of activities taking place at the new Acorn Meadow home today, Wednesday.
This includes and entertainment to listen and dance along to, an ice-cream van with a variety of delicious flavours to try, cupcakes, tea and coffee, the opportunity to meet the home manager, care home team and residents, plus a tour of the site.
Steve McCarthy, home manager at Avandale Lodge (soon to be Acorn Meadow) Care Home commented: “We are very excited to be welcoming Northwich’s town mayor councillor Sam Naylor as our guest of honour to unveil our newly rebranded, refurbished and upgraded home.
“We are so pleased to invite our community to join us for the open day event and see the amazing changes happening at the home.”
