A PRIMARY school’s love of numbers has won them a £500 prize after pupils answered more than 300,000 maths questions during just one month.
Delamere Primary Academy took part in 10ticks Mental Maths’ competition, sponsored by Liontrust, and correctly answered an impressive 300,870 maths questions during March.
A spokesperson for the school said: “After an exciting but competitive month we are overjoyed to have won the March competition.
“We are so proud of how well the children have done and we have seen a much higher engagement in mental arithmetic through the use of 10ticks in our class.
“Children’s scores have consistently improved and this has been clear for them and us as teachers to see.
“It was great to see how excited the children were to play the maths games and they loved seeing how many medals and certificates they achieved.
“10ticks has been a fantastic resource for us especially in the preparation for SATs.
“Currently we have only enrolled year six so they could see what it was like and have some revision time, however we will definitely be signing up the rest of the school as soon as possible.”
