BIKERS who are damaging crops in farmers’ fields could be targeted by the police drone.
This is the warning from Cheshire Police after reports of motorbikes being ridden in an anti-social manner in the Weaverham and Cuddington areas.
Officers say the drone could be utilised to identify those responsible and track them home.
They are also urging residents to report any anti-social behaviour.
PCSO Michelle, from the Weaver and Cuddington Police team, said: “Off-road bike enquires have been made around Walnut Avenue, Larch Close, Briar Lane and Green Park following reports of crops being damaged and ridden over in the nearby farmers’ fields.
“Please refrain from this activity as these fields are working farmland which has a financial impact on the farm owners.
“If you witness any activity, call 101 to report, and if available, the drone could be deployed to follow the bikers home.”
Anti-social bikers are also being targeted by police in Barnton, with officers stepping up patrols in the area.
In an update, the force’s Marbury Police team said: “After reports recently of bikes riding in an anti-social manner on the back lanes of Barnton, checks have been made to try and identify the offenders.”
