NORTHWICH is within the top 600 places to live in the UK, with its commitment to being green one of its highest ranking aspects.
A league table of the best places to live in the UK - the 'post-lockdown property hotspots' - puts Northwich at number 539.
Compiled annually by independent buying agency, Garrington Property Finders, the Best Places to Live 2022 report ranks 1,372 cities, towns and villages.
Every location is judged against four criteria - natural beauty, architectural beauty, quality of life and green credentials (which includes the number of public EV charging points and energy-efficient homes in the area).
Northwich ranked 539 out of 1,372, dropping 248 places since last year.
It was high up on the list for being green, coming 158th, and scored well in both architectural and natural beauty, finishing 500th and 654th respectively.
It’s ranking for quality of life was not as high on the list – 1,178th.
According to the data, the average family home costs less than £350k ranking 230 out of 661 in its price band.
Tarporley ranked 1,006 out of 1,372, dropping 561 places since last year.
It was high up on the list for architectural beauty and its green ranking, coming 251st and 531st respectively.
It was lower down the list for natural beauty, coming 1,277th, and quality of life, coming 1,257th.
According to the data, the average family home costs £350k-£650k, ranking 460 out of 605 in its price band.
Winsford ranked 958, dropping 151 places since last year.
It was high up on the list for quality of life, finishing 261st.
However, its ranking for natural beauty, architectural beauty and being green were not so high, with rankings of 986, 1,117 and 883 respectively.
The average family home costs less £350k, coming 419th out of 661 in its price band.
There was no data available for Middlewich.
Knutsford ranked 533, rising 89 places since last year.
It was high up on the list for architectural beauty, coming 389th and for being green, coming 360th.
It’s ranking for natural beauty was lower down the list, ranking 947th, and quality of life came 845th.
According to the data, the average family home costs £350-£650k ranking 247 out of 605 in its price band.
Holmes Chapel ranked 1,055, dropping 359 places since last year.
Its higher rankings were natural beauty and its green credentials, coming 620th and 568th respectively.
Quality of life finished 1,216th, while architectural beauty was also further down the list, coming 946th.

Wilmslow ranked 634, dropping 102 places since last year.
It scored highly in natural beauty and for being green, coming 577th and 91 respectively.
Quality of life came much lower, finishing 1,241st, with architectural beauty coming 697th.

Goostrey, ranked 1,191, dropping 79 places since last year.
It scored higher for being green and architectural beauty, coming 776th and 669th respectively.
It finished 1,157th for natural beauty and 1,169th for quality of life.
