A MAN from Northwich has been told he must stay at home every weekend night for the next nine months as part of his punishment for attacking a woman.
Thomas Southern, of Withington Close, will be electronically tagged for the next 40 weeks, after he admitted to the three assault charges.
The 24-year-old was appearing at Warrington Magistrates Court on Thursday, April 14, where he entered guilty pleas to all the charges against him.
Of the three assaults, the most serious offence took place on November 6 last year when Southern attacked the woman, occasioning her actual bodily harm.
His first assault took place just weeks earlier, on September 22 while he carried out a further attack against her on October 31.
Southern had already pleaded guilty at a hearing on March 15 and was returning to the court to be sentenced.
The community order means he will have to remain at his home address between the hours of 9pm-8am every Friday, 6pm-8am every Saturday and 6pm-5.30am every Sunday.
He was also made the subject of a restraining order, meaning he cannot contact his victim in any way whatsoever, for a period of two years.
While completed the terms of his community order, he will also complete 40 days of rehabilitation and must pay £800 compensation to the woman.
Southern must also pay £85 in prosecution costs and a £95 surcharge which will go to funding victim services.
