A POPULAR family attraction in Northwich is set to unveil an upgrade - and it's opening just in time for Easter.
Sandiway Miniature Railway has been based at Kennel Wood since the group of enthusiasts behind the project purchased the site nine years ago.
Mid-Cheshire Society of Model Engineers were forced to leave their previous home back in 2011 after being based there for 16 years.
The society re-established their following by turning the Sandiway site into a miniature railway, including 1,400 feet of track, a station, signal box, and footbridge.
But now, they have improved the facilities and extended the track, with it set to open on Easter Saturday.
A spokesman for the society said: "Volunteers have been working hard over the last nine months to build a new track through the woods.
"The official opening of the extension will take place at midday on Saturday and will be followed by a parade of club members' engines.
"The railway is open to the public every Sunday and bank holidays throughout the year.
"Over the Easter weekend trains will be running on Saturday, Sunday and Monday hauled by live steam locomotives."
