MORE than 5,500 new Covid-19 cases have been recorded across Cheshire West and Cheshire East in the last week.
According to figures released by Public Health England, there had been a combined 5,626 cases across the boroughs as of 4pm yesterday (April 5).
This is made up of 2,583 cases in Cheshire West and 3,043 cases in Cheshire East.
The latest figures show the respective seven-day case rates for the two boroughs stand at 891.4 for Cheshire West and 927.4 for Cheshire East.
Since the pandemic began there have now been a total of 116,259 Covid cases in Cheshire West and 124,665 in Cheshire East.
Nationally in the last seven days up to April 5, 425,303 people have tested positive for Covid.
