POLICE have named a woman charged with a spate of thefts from shops in Northwich.
Lorraine Matthews was arrested on Friday after officers stopped a black Renault Megane in Manchester Road.
The 57-year-old, of Ridgewood Avenue, Manchester, was subsequently charged with driving without a licence or insurance and four counts of theft.
She is accused of:
- Stealing clothing worth £1,793 from River Island on January 23, 2022
- Stealing clothing (value unknown) from River Island on February 9, 2022
- Stealing clothing (value unknown) from River Island on February 20, 2022
- Stealing clothing worth £611.74 from H&M Northwich on April 1, 2022
Matthews was arrested alongside 25-year-old Laura Rushworth, also from Ridgewood Avenue, who has also been charged with the theft from H&M.

Both women have been released on conditional bail and are set to appear at Chester Magistrates Court on Tuesday, April 19.
