LOSTOCK Gralam took a step towards the Cheshire Football League Premier Division summit with a resounding victory over current table toppers FC St Helens.
Liam Collins' 25th-minute strike was the difference when Saints visited The Park.
Tom Hassall played a vital part in the engine room to keep the visitors at bay, with the backline remaining high and strong to see no real efforts coming to test the returning Jacob Kirwan in between the sticks.
Brad West and Jack Woolley both had chances which tested the visiting keeper, with Hassall also inches away from stabbing the ball home.
Fourth-placed Lostock, who are 15 points behind St Helens with five games in hand, face AFC Knowsley at the Lord Derby Pavilion on Saturday at 2pm.
