MARK Bebbington of New Era Community Boxing Club will attempt to break a Guinness world boxing record this weekend.
The record attempt involves a continuous amount of boxing pads held in a row, the current record being 360 rounds which took 24 hours.
Bebbington is aiming for 500 rounds which will take more than 33 hours.
He is raising money to fund heart screening with the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young in memory of Aaron Dixon, who lost his life to an undetected heart defect in 2011 and since then his mum Debbie has been raising money to fund heart screening in Northwich.
Figures show 12 young people lose their lives every week to an undetected heart defect, with 80 percent of those having no prior symptoms.
The event starts at 8am on Saturday and finishes at 5pm on Sunday at the Queen Street venue.
All are welcome to attend and cheer on Bebbington, while Debbie will also be on hand to discuss the work she does in the community.
