PLANS have been submitted to build 21 homes on the site of a former Northwich joinery.
Hassett Homes is seeking permission from Cheshire West and Chester Council to transform the land at Yoxhall Joinery, off Winnington Avenue, into a residential development.
The final lease for buildings at the site ended in December 2019 and they have since been vacated.
The proposal would see a mix of two and four-bedroom homes built, one of which would be affordable housing. The remaining 20 would be market housing.
A planning statement, written by Pegasus Group on behalf of the applicant, says: "The proposed development will provide a mixture of two and four-bedroom properties.
"These properties will be a mixture of terraced and detached homes.
"Access will come directly from Winnington Avenue and will be built to adoptable standards with 5.5m-wide carriageway and 2m-wide service strips.
"A turning head has been provided at the western point of the site which leads into a private road providing access to four homes."
Due to the developments proximity to the neighbouring Jubilee Fields, no provision for play and open space has been made.
The site currently retains outline planning permission for 33 homes, off-street parking and private amenity space, which granted in December 2019.
A subsequent proposal for a 66-bedroom care home for older people at the site was submitted, but this was withdrawn in March 2021.
