A MAN has been jailed after assaulting two people in Northwich – one of whom was a police officer.
Richard Murray, of Fairfield Road in Northwich, attacked a woman and a police officer on February 23.
The 40-year-old pleaded guilty to two counts of assault by beating when appearing in Chester Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, February 24.
For each offence, magistrates handed Murray a 12-week sentence – a total of 24 weeks in prison.
He was also sentenced to a further week in prison for committing the offences while under supervision requirements following his release from prison.
Murray’s guilty plea was taken into account when imposing the total 25-week sentence.
