FIREFIGHTERS have rescued two people from a river in Northwich.
Crews were called to the River Dane in Roker Park, Vickers Way, at 3.25pm this afternoon.
On arrival, two people were found clinging on to the side of a sandbank in the water.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Firefighters were called to rescue two people who were hanging to the side of a sandbank in a river.
"The crews were in verbal contact with the pair who were rescued by a swift water team using specialist equipment and a raft."
One crew from Northwich, one from Lymm, one from Widnes, one from Warrington and one from Penketh attended.
