1874 NORTHWICH will remain tenants at Barnton FC’s Townfield home ground for the next five seasons.
Both clubs have confirmed that their groundshare agreement, which started back in 2019, has been extended until the end of the 2026-27 season subject to league approval.
Barnton chairman Dave Bryning and his 1874 counterpart Steve Richardson said they were looking forward to volunteers from both clubs continuing to work together to improve the facilities already on offer at Townfield.
“I am delighted we have reached this agreement with 1874 Northwich, and I would like to thank everyone involved for their continued support at Townfield,” Bryning said.
“We can now look forward to progressing with some exciting plans we both have.“ Since earning promotion to the Northern Premier League, 1874 have been keen to help upgrade the ground to suit their higher level.
That is something Richardson is looking forward to seeing continue.
He said: “It has been a pleasure to work with Barnton FC for the past few years and we look forward to playing our part in the plans for continuing improvements at Townfield.”
Both clubs have offered their thanks to Barnton Parish Council for their assistance with the agreement.
