An upcycling clothes party in Northwich has been hailed a rousing success.

A great turnout was seen at the ScrapAdoo Upcycle Clothes Party, held at the British Legion in Moulton on February 16.

Eco-ware stores, including Weigh of The World, Oh Sew Honey, Birchgreen Candles and Moulton Glass, set up stalls to show off their items.

Party guests were able to browse through soya wax melts, re-usable face wipes, eco-kitchen products and stained glass ornaments.

Transition Northwich had a stall with some environmental information about the town.

Hilary Belshaw, from ScrapAdoo, also gave a talk on how to upcycle clothes into useful household items such as turning a blouse into a pair of oven pads, while Jo Kershaw, of the Moulton Environmental Group, demonstrated how to turn a T shirt into a re-usable shopping bag.

Hilary said: "Thank you to everyone who supported our ScrapAdoo Upcycle Clothes Party.

"We had a great turnout from some lovely ladies who enjoyed a glass of fizz and browsing the stalls selling some lovely eco-items."

A charity raffle was held on the night and raised £123 for St Luke's Cheshire Hospice.

Hilary has been running sewing workshops at ScrapAdoo upcycling in Moulton for two years.
