A MAN has avoided an immediate prison sentence after carrying a knife in Northwich.
Jonathan Wakeling, of Swanlow Lane in Winsford, was found in possession of a ‘large knife, without good reason or lawful authority’ on January 23 along the A556 in Davenham.
The 24-year-old appeared in Chester Magistrates’ Court on Monday, February 14, to be sentenced for the offence.
Wakeling was handed a 16-week imprisonment, suspended for 12 months.
His guilty plea was taken into account.
Wakeling was also fined £40 and must carry out 35 rehabilitation activity days.
