A NEW Steven Spielberg adaptation of the original stage musical West Side Story is being screened at a community venue.
This much loved story, featuring Leonard Bernstein music, will be shown at The Grange Theatre at 7.15pm on Tuesday, February 22.
It marks the 14th season of films organised by Tricia Parker and her husband Ian to give residents the chance to enjoy a night at the movies closer to home.
Tricia said: “A lot of people who live alone meet their friends. It is much cheaper than going to the cinema.
“Each time we make around £1,000 profit which all goes to local charities.”
The cast includes includes Rachel Zegler, (Maria), Ansel Elgort (Tony), Ariana DeBose (Anita), David Alvarez (Bernardo), Mike Faist (Riff), Josh Andrés Rivera (Chino), Corey Stoll (Lietenant Schrank) and Brian d’Arcy James (Sergeant Krupke).
West Side Story is produced and directed by Steven Spielberg from a script by Academy Award-nominated screenwriter and Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Tony Kushner.
