WINNINGTON Park Bowmen members enjoyed a successful weekend.
Six archers from the club set down their bows to collect trophies and medals after competing at Chester in the Cheshire County Bowmen indoor Portsmouth individual and team event.
The individual competitions took place on Saturday, with Leigh Hadfield finishing second in the men's recurve only three points behind 26-year-old Olympian Patrick Huston from Belfast.
John Walsh achieved a top score as he placed first in the men's barebow, narrowly missing the county record by one point.
Amanda Rose tackled the women's barebow and claimed sixth spot in a quality line-up of archers, while
Michelle Oakes pocketed 7th position in the women's recurve.
The Winnington Park archers returned to action 24 hours later to compete in the team recurve event with more successes.
The team of Hadfield, Doug McNaboe, Alex Sayers and Oakes won the Ship Victory Archers Trophy in a very tough category of top quality archers.
Hadfield had double cause for celebration as he also won the men's highest recurve score.
