A MAN has handed a six-week curfew after stealing Calvin Klein underwear from Sports Direct.
Sam Taggart, of Chapel Street, Northwich, pleaded guilty to the theft at Chester Magistrates Court on Friday, February 4.
The 36-year-old stole the designer underwear, worth £40, from the sportswear branch at Barons Quay on December 20 last year.
Taggart also pleaded guilty to stealing two Versace gift sets, worth a total of £55, from Superdrug in Northwich on February 2.
Taking his guilty pleas into account, magistrates made a community order and imposed a six-week curfew.
Starting on February 4 and concluding on March 17, Taggart must remain at his Chapel Street address between 7pm and 7am daily and will be monitored electronically.
A rehabilitation activity requirement, up to a maximum of 20 days, was also imposed.
Magistrates also ordered Taggart to pay a surcharge of £95 to fund victim services and to pay costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service. He was also fined £50, giving him a total court bill of £230.
