FIVE fire engines are currently fighting a fire at a thatched cottage in Tabley.
An aerial platform from Lymm is also being used to tackle the blaze from above the brick built property on Pickmere Lane.
The alarm was raised shortly before 6pm on Sunday.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus have been using hose reel jets to fight the fire.
All the occupants are safe.
A fire investigation officer is on his way to the scene.
Power has been isolated and all occupants are accounted for and had safely left the building and salvage sheets have been used within the property to protect the interior.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Everyone has been accounted for, people and animals.
“Firefighters are inside the property.
“At the moment there doesn’t seem to be any damage inside the property.
“Power has been isolated and all occupants are accounted for and had safely left the building and salvage sheets have been used within the property to protect the interior."
Pickmere Lane has been closed whilst emergency crews are at the scene.
Firefighters and further relief crews are expected to remain at the scene for some time yet.
One fire engine from Northwich, one from Warrington and one from Middlewich along with a fire engine from Greater Manchester FRS are dealing with the incident.
