ALL lanes have now reopened after a three vehicle crash closed the M56 westbound towards Hale and Manchester Airport.
The road had been blocked since around midday on Saturday.
Firefighters have confirmed that three vehicles were involved in the collision but no-one was hurt.
A spokesman for Wilmslow Fire Station said: "There wasn’t any reports of any major injuries as far as we were made aware of."

The accident has happened in the roadworks area between junction 6 at Hale Road and junction 7, the A557 Chester Road in Bowdon.
Traffic was slow on the opposite side due to onlookers.

Traffic has now been released past the scene of this #M56 incident in lane 1 and via the contraflow system in place. Lane 2 on the main carriageway remains closed for ongoing vehicle recovery.
