A STALKER who created countless fake social media profiles to harass women was the most high-profile of the Cheshire cases sentenced in court this week.
However, this defendant wasn’t the only one to face the dock.

A ‘SOPHISTICATED’ stalker who harassed multiple people online by creating countless fake social media profiles of his victims has been jailed.
Matthew James Hardy, of Forest Place, Northwich, was sentenced to nine years at Chester Crown Court today, Wednesday, for the ‘deep and sophisticated infiltration into his victims’ personal lives’.
The 30-year-old admitted creating fake profiles on social media between April 2016 and August 2021 to try and befriend his victims – sometimes even posing as their friends and family members in order to gather information about them that would cause embarrassment.

A MAN has been sent to prison after being caught almost four times over the drink-drive limit.
Dawid Mazur, of Laburnum Road in Northwich, was driving in Crewe on December 10 when he provided a reading of 130 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the legal limit is 35.
The 40-year-old was also found to be driving with no insurance and driving while already disqualified.

A TEENAGER has been sentenced for possessing indecent images – including of children and of sexual activity with a corpse.
Kyle Niblett, 19, of Mere Crescent in Oakmere, Northwich, was found with a variety of indecent images when police, acting on intelligence, carried out a search warrant at his address in 2019.
Appearing in Chester Magistrates’ Court on Friday, January 28, the prosecution said Niblett was just 17 when he was arrested and told police ‘he needed help’.

A 51-YEAR-OLD man was fined more than £600 after being caught driving without insurance.
Peter Anthony Oldbury, of Boundary Farm, Peacock Lane, High Legh appeared at Stockport Magistrates Court to be sentenced on January 24.
The court heard how, on June 28, he drove a vehicle in Styal without insurance.
He was fined £650 and his driving record was endorsed with six points.
His guilty plea was taken into account when imposing sentence.
