A WEDDING planner who wanted to have more time to spend with her family has set up a new business with a difference.
After organising the celebrations of hundreds of couples, Vicki Leigh-Carrick was growing tired of missing out making memories of her own with her own family.
Being busy with the day job and left needing help cleaning her own house and walking the dog, the mum of two, who lives in Pickmere, stumbled on an idea, and Dusters & Doggies was born.
Vicki explains: "Obviously as a wedding planner, I found that I'm very rarely at home.
"I was always working weekends and since having two children, I was just missing out on so many things.
"That started the process of thinking about what I could do that fitted in around school hours and could earn some decent money.
"Everybody in Knutsford seems to need a cleaner and lots of people have dogs now too, especially after lockdown, me included!
"So it was when working every hour God sends planning weddings that I put the idea of the two together and thought I might be on to something."
The idea is that Vicki will spend around two hours cleaning your house and then when it's sparkling, will take the dog out for a walk around the local area.
"Since I started it and put it on Facebook, it's gone crazy," she added.
"Last summer I spent the whole time away from my children as there was such a huge backlog of weddings, due to the pandemic.
"I was busy every day in the week and on weekends too, and I just didn't fancy another summer like that again.
"So with this job, it allows me to work during the day and ensure I'm there when school finishes too.
"I'll do a minimum of two hours cleaning and then however long they want me to walk the dog for."
Despite only just starting the service Vicki has already had her duster out and been on dog walking duties.
The service is open to anyone living in the Knutsford and Northwich areas and anyone interested can contact Vicki via Facebook - facebook.com/Dusters-Doggies - or by calling 07939036432.
