SEVERAL Northwich farmers treated shoppers to a spectacular pre-Christmas light show and raised money for a great cause too.
After taking part in massive 'Tractor Run' event in Liverpool on Sunday, December 19, the local farmers decided to hold a smaller one closer to home.
They had been part of a convoy of around 100 tractors all decorated with twinkling Christmas lights and tinsel, raising thousands of pounds for Alder Hey Children's Hospital.
Northwich farmers took their tractors to the town's Tesco to spread some Christmas cheer
Matthew Bloor, one of the farmers taking part, explained why they wanted to spread some similar Christmas to people in his hometown.
He said: "After taking part in a 100 long tractor run on Sunday evening a few local farmers who supply Tesco with milk decided to take our tractors to the store.
"We had lit up tractors, complete with snow machines, for the local mini farmers to get up close to them and have a picture and try an raise some more money for Alder Hey.
"The night went really well, considering the weather was really rubbish.
"But we had plenty of mini farmers come to see us.
"In the three hours we were there we raised £450 for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital."
Despite the wet weather the farmers managed to raise £450
The event was held outside Northwich Tesco on Wednesday, December 22 between 4pm-7pm.
