A ROAD in Northwich is likely to remain closed for some time after a landslip caused significant damage.
Soot Hill was closed in both directions as a result of the landslip under the carriageway opposite Cosgrave Business Park in Anderton.
The incident happened on Tuesday, December 28, with engineers on site from Cheshire West and Chester council surveying the problem.

Cllr Kate Cernik, who has also visited the site, said the problems caused by the landslip seem to be 'significant'.
She said: "We have visited the area and spoken to CWAC engineers on site who are aware of the problems and evaluating the scale of the problem which looks, at first sight, to be significant.
"We also spoke with some local business owners who are affected."

Drivers have been advised to allow extra time for their journeys with diversions put in place on the A533, Winnington Lane.
According to another local resident, all properties on both sides of the landslip remain accessible.
Cheshire West and Chester have been approached for comment.
