AN urban explorer has provided a fascinating glimpse into a derelict pub in Northwich.
The Black Greyhound in Wincham served its last pint more than a decade ago and has sadly fallen into a state of disrepair since.
Despite several planning applications to demolish the building and build new housing on the site, none has yet come to fruition.
Steve Kay, who lives in Wigan, began exploring abandoned buildings around 18 months ago and visited The Black Greyhound in June with his friend Liam.
The dining booths at the pub are still in situ
The pair's tour of the building, which now resembles more of a ship wreck than a former public house, can be seen in full on Youtube.
"I used to work as a delivery driver, so I was familiar with the area and this former pub," he said.
"I never actually visited it when it was open
"When you go into these properties, it's hard to distinguish how old they are.
"As soon as water gets into these place they deteriorate in next to no time."
The bar area of the pub is still clearly visible
Steve and Liam posted a video to Youtube of their exploration of once popular pub and restaurant, with the half moon-shaped booths still eerily in place.
He added: "It's fascinating to see what the pub is like now.
"It's obviously sad to see how much it has fallen into disrepair, but there is still so much to identify it as a pub.
"It's actually pretty cool to look around these abandoned places.
"We found the remains of a baby grand piano in the main room of the pub.
"There was the old bar too, which still had fridges in it."
Steve found this old baby grand piano in the abandoned pub
During the exploration of the building, Steve and Liam also stumbled upon a room upstairs, which still had an iron bed frame a two-seater sofa.
"You don't always take everything in at the time," he added.
"It's sometimes only when you look back at all the footage that you remember what you found.
"But that baby grand piano and that room upstairs with the bed in it, were definitely two of my highlights from the Black Greyhound."
The inquisitive pair have also visited other abandoned sites in Cheshire, including an old dairy farm near Knutsford.
