THE decision by Government not to provide funding to make Northwich station accessible to all when it is rebuilt has caused much anger in the town.
Mike Amesbury, the town's MP has taken the fight all the way to Parliament and even made it the subject of his first Prime Minister's Question for 18 months.

The Weaver Vale politician had already revealed the disappointing decision by the Transport Secretary Grant Shapps and asked Boris Johnson to intervene in the matter.
Having been invited to wait to see what would be announced as part of the Government's £96 billion Integrated Rail Plan, Mr Amesbury wrote a letter to the PM asking for his support after the town wasn't included in any of the ambitious plans.
He wrote: "After reviewing the detail of the announcement, no reference was made whatsoever to rebuilding an accessible Northwich train station.
"And once again, I ask your support on this issue, which will create a genuine opportunity to level up and 'Build Back Better' and farer for my constituents."
Guardian readers joined politicians in condemning the decision, with several calling the move 'disgraceful' and discriminatory against the elderly and disabled, who can only access one platform.
The issue clearly strikes a nerve with many, with Peter Drinkwater, commenting: "If it was St Pancras or Waterloo money no problem.
"Look at all those high towered cranes on the London landscape.
"This taxpayers money, cant even get a new bridge at Winnington or proper road exits out of Northwich."
Meanwhile, Philip Acton said: "A real case of discrimination of the frail or disabled comes to mind."
Ross Bierton agreed, calling the decision: "Absolutely disgraceful and disrespectful.
"They should be ashamed.
"It’s ok to take the money from people but won’t accommodate for any special needs."
Several others described the decision as a 'missed opportunity' which would only incur greater costs if the work is carried out further down the line.
Hazel Plant said: "To make it accessible for all now will save reconstruction and expense at a later date."
While Lorna Wood added: "It really is a missed opportunity."
