ST Luke's Hospice's 'Great Hospice Pudding Day' is taking place in Northwich this year to get the whole family into the giving spirit.

After the success of last year’s virtual Pudding Day, the event is going 'live' later this month.

On Sunday, November 28, ‘The Great Hospice Pudding Day’ will take place in Northwich where members of the public can walk a choice of distances, starting at Barons Quay near H&M.

This year’s live event promises to be a fun-filled day full of festive cheer to entertain the whole family, including a stage warm up with music and games to get in the Christmas spirit.

St Luke’s head of events, Jane Thompson said: "We’re so excited to be doing ‘The Great Hospice Pudding Day’ live this year and to be in Northwich.

"We really hope people will sign up and come along to support us."

Participants can choose from either a 5k Northwich town trail route or the 10k distance that includes Carey Park and Anderton boat lift.

Along the trail, members must also collect stamps at various town landmarks, which will be marked on a unique ‘Pudding Day’ map.

Participants will receive a ‘Pudding Pack’ full of festive treats to relax and enjoy after the walk, including a special medal which converts into a tree decoration, a ‘Pudding Day’ quiz and of course, a Christmas pudding.

‘The Great Hospice Pudding Day’ is kindly being supported by Barons Quay, Northwich BID, Northwich Town Council and Radio Northwich.

They’re all helping to promote and stage the event while also encouraging support for local businesses.

Town mayor, councillor Sam Naylor said: "It’s great to see St Luke’s coming up with this original theme that everybody will enjoy.

"All good wishes for your fundraising!"

Barons Quay centre manager, Lina Higuita, added: "We can’t wait to welcome participants to Barons Quay for this festive fundraiser next month!

"We are so pleased that we can support the event, which we hope will raise a lot of money for a brilliant local charity."
