A JOBS fair is set to take place for people to find out more about working on the construction of a sustainable energy plant.

CNIM, the engineering construction procurement contractor for the Lostock Sustainable Energy development, will hold a double event on November 17 and 18.

At the peak of the plant's construction there are likely to be around 650 people working on the site.

The Jobs Fair and a Meet the Buyer events will take place in the Conservatory Room of the Mere Court Hotel and Conference Centre, Warrington Road, Mere, near Knutsford.

The series will open with the Jobs Fair on Wednesday, November 17, which will run from 2pm-7pm. The session will provide an opportunity for local people to drop in and find out more about construction related job opportunities, during the development.

It will enable people to register their interest in any potential employment vacancies and will also provide an opportunity for other local organisations to exhibit.

The Meet the Buyer event will be held on Thursday, November 18 from 10.30am-6.30pm, at the same venue, and will provide local suppliers with an opportunity to meet with the project’s

procurement teams to register their interest in bidding for the contracts that will be offered over the course of the project. Businesses are asked to pre-register their interest via the project website.

Xavier Jacquemont, Project Director, CNIM, said: “CNIM is pleased to be in a position to stage the Jobs Fair and Meet the Buyer events. These events are a great opportunity for CNIM, and other

organisations to recruit as many people from the local area as possible.

"We would encourage suppliers interested in working with us on the LSEP development to contact us through our project’s website to book their place for Meet the Buyer.

"For local people, or single contractors, please do drop into the Jobs Fair.

"You can also submit your CV and find out more on our website."
