AN amazing mural of music icon David Bowie has appeared on the side of a building in Northwich.
The gigantic image, which was completed in the last couple of days, is the work of internationally selling artist Trafford Parsons.
It is a collaboration between the artist and the New Moon Collective gallery on Crown Street, with the image painted on the side of a building opposite popular coffee shop Abda.
Art Gallery manager Zoe Briers said she wanted to bring some colour to the town centre as she encouraged people to take a selfie with a loved one.
She said: "Some of you may have seen a 50 foot David Bowie mural spring up over the last few days.
"New Moon Collective has collaborated with International selling artist Trafford Parsons, to bring some colour to the town centre.
"With the backing of Cheshire West and Chester, Northwich Bid, and Northwich Town Council, we have created a striking piece of street art to make Northwich smile.
"We chose David Bowie and his song Modern Love as a symbol of the changing times we live in and how we are all trying our best.
"David Bowie is an icon who embraced the ever-changing way we see people and how each person chooses to live their life.
"Come and visit this piece on crown street, take a picture or a selfie.
"Stand with the person you love and embrace what we have, each other. Make sure you add the hashtag #NorthwichBowie when you post to social media."
New Moon Collective has also teamed up with Trafford Parsons on a limited edition collection of art, t-shirts, mugs and stickers and the gallery is located above Abda.
Cllr Sam Naylor shared this photo on Facebook of himself with Zoe Briers and the Bowie mural artist Trafford Parsons
Town mayor Cllr Sam Naylor said the mural was a fantastic addition to the town.
He said: "Great to celebrate this fantastic artwork delivered by Zoe Briers of New Moon Art Gallery and produced by artist Trafford Parsons.
"Get down to Abda to check it out.
"A fantastic addition in our great town."
