A BODY has been found in the search for a 64-year-old missing man.
The body was discovered in a wooded area near to Lily Lane, Byley, at around 5:20pm yesterday, Wednesday.
A Cheshire Police spokespersons said: “Formal identification has not yet taken place, but it is believed to be that of missing man Robert Godfrey.
“His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
“His death is not believed to be suspicious.”
The tragic news comes after officers issued an appeal to help find Robert Godfrey who had not been seen since he left his home in the Wharton area at around 8:30am on Monday, October 11.
A case file will be prepared for the coroner.
