NOW we’re talking.
Dubbed ‘the sort of spectacle that everyone should see at least once’, the switch on times for Blackpool Illuminations 2021 have been announced and it begins tonight!
The light show has been a large part of Blackpool’s attraction since 1879 and that doesn’t look set to change anytime soon.
The display is to be extended by due months following the Covid-19 pandemic and will get underway this evening, Friday.
Strictly Come Dancing’s head judge Shirley Ballas will be turning the lights on.
And the event will feature a concert, that will also be live-streamed, featuring internet star KSI and indie band The Wombats.
Singer-songwriter Ella Henderson and Wes Nelson will also be playing to fans this year.
Tonight’s show starts at 8.50pm and finishes at 1am on Saturday.
From Saturday to September 16, the start time will be 8pm and ending times will vary between 10.30pm and 12am.
After that, the start times get progressively earlier until the final date of January 3 2022.
And of course, the illuminations are free to visit.
