A DRINK driver was arrested by police on the M56 this morning, Wednesday.
The motorist was spotted by officers from North West Motorway Police at junction 10 for Stretton.
A breath test was carried out which revealed the driver to be almost four times the drink drive limit, despite it being so early in the morning.
They were subsequently arrested and their vehicle was seized.
In a social media post, North West Motorway Police said: “We stopped with a vehicle that was stationary in a live lane on the M56 at junction 10 at Stretton.

“On suspecting the driver had been drinking, a breath test was conducted and the driver was found to be nearly four times over the limit – at 10.20am.
“Driver arrested and vehicle seized.”
