1874 Northwich ran out comfortable 4-1 winners against Kendal Town at Townfield on Saturday.
Four different players hit the net, to get a big bank holiday weekend off to the perfect start.
The game's opening exchanges were frantic, and on the third minute it saw the dismissal of the Kendal Town goalkeeper Morgan Bacon.
Scott McGowan was first to a short back pass but was ultimately brought down by the keeper, leaving the referee with no choice but to show the red card.
The breakthrough came on the 12th minute, midfielder Jack Irlam with the goal, turning the last defender and shooting low beneath stand-in netminder Thomas Fagan.
The game was now one-way traffic, with Mike Koral grabbing the second goal of the game.
He overlapped down the right and was picked out by a measured ball from Jack Marrow. Koral drove a shot low into the near post to double the lead.
Just before the half-hour mark Jake Parker got in on the act, his half volley from the edge of the area nestling into the bottom left of the goal.
A warning from the visitors came at the end of the half, Gregory McCaragher striking a powerful effort from 30 yards, which had Tony Aghayere scrambling, but went over the bar and the 3-0 lead was taken into the half-time break.
Aghayere was once again called into action early into the second half, his save to deny McCaragher inside was a brilliant one. The reactions to get down low to his right to stop a powerful effort was as good as a goal for 74.
McGowan got on the scoresheet on the hour mark with the goal of the game, his effort on the spin from 25 yards was a cracker. It whistled past Fagan into the top right corner.
The visitors grabbed a consolation on the 90th minute, Eric Yahaya hitting a powerful effort into the bottom left corner giving Aghayere no chance.
