WITTON Albion continue to seek a first win of the season after a 1-0 loss at home to South Shields.
The full-time Northern Premier League Premier Division early pace-setters made it three wins from three thanks to a 57th-minute strike from Blair Adams.
The goal had been coming.
A little earlier South Shields rattled the crossbar twice in succession before goalkeeper Greg Hall pulled off a stupendous fingertips save.
But there was nothing he could do about the winning goal, with Blair evading two challenges before putting the ball in the net.

It was a game of few chances though and Witton's plans were affected before kick off when manager Carl Macauley made a late change, handing newly signed Callum Rose from Welsh side TNS his debut in place of Rob Hopley.
On Tuesday Witton visit Radcliffe, another side yet to win a game in the opening two weeks of the season.
