IT'S been a good week for Lostock Gralam.
The Grey Lambs followed up a 5-1 win against Winstanley Warriors on Saturday with a 2-1 success at Altrincham Reserves in midweek.
Lostock were 3-0 ahead against Winstanley within 17 minutes thanks to two goals from Liam Collins and a long range effort by Jordan Johnson, who added a fourth before the break.
Tom Hassall completed the rout.
They went into Saturday's game still ravaged with injuries, with the addition of Brad West's suspension following his dismissal against Congleton.
Winstanley were a thorn in Lostock's side when they were crowned Division One champions (the last time a full season was played) so the team knew how difficult this tie could potentially be.
The game got off to a ferocious start, Collins giving the Grey Lambs the lead when he burst through the backline and noticed the goalkeeper off his line. Collins ably and smartly turned and lofted the ball home from the edge of the area.
Collins doubled the lead moments later when a scintillating run was capped with a fine curled strike into the bottom corner.
Warriors, perplexed, they conceded again to make it three with what was a contender for goal of the season when Jordan Johnson, who was less than a yard inside the opposition half, clocked the Winstanley keeper had strayed from his line and unleashed a lob which sailed into the net.
Winstanley then came back at Lostock and Jacob Kirwan needed to produce some good saves in between the sticks. Some top blocks were performed by full-back Connor Hooks too.
However, before half-time Lostock had a fourth and it was Johnson who provided it, when he coolly slotted home.
After the break Warriors were defiant and after a lapse at the back found themselves a goal back.
But it was Hassall who had the last laugh when he rounded the keeper and roll the ball into an empty net.
Lostock visit Billinge on Saturday.
