A MAN in his 50s is believed to have sustained serious injuries following a crash on the M6 this morning, Friday.
Emergency services were called to an accident between junction 20 for Lymm Interchange and junction 19 for Knutsford on the southbound carriageway at 4.16am.
The collision involved a HGV, a white panel van and a silver Mercedes.
The driver of the Mercedes is believed to have sustained serious injuries and has been taken to hospital.
Police had earlier described his injuries as life-threatening.
Due to a fuel spillage, the M6 is currently closed between junction 20 and 19 southbound.
Traffic is currently backed up to junction J21a at Croft with 60 minutes delays.
Diversions are in place and motorists are asked to avoid the area.
