A VICTORIAN building in the grounds of Delamere Manor could be set for a new lease of life.
Plans have been submitted to renovate the pump house on the manor grounds and turn it into a function suite, as well as build an extension and create car parking for up to 51 vehicles.
The manor on Cuddington Lane was built in 1784 for the Wilbraham family, but in recent years was known as the home of Take That star Gary Barlow before becoming a wedding venue.
It features six bedrooms, its own nightclub and a six-acre lake and has hosted a host of celebrity weddings in recent years, including Coronation Street star Samia Ghadie and ice skater Sylvain Longchambon, as well as Emmerdale actor Adam Thomas and his partner Caroline Daly.
The pump house sits on the manor’s 117-acre grounds, but according to a design and access statement submitted to Cheshire West and Chester’s planning department is currently vacant and in a state of disrepair.
The plans would include a complete refurbishment as well as the construction of a side extension, with a total floorspace of 262 sq m. Parking for 49 cars and two larger vehicles would also be created.
The statement said: “This proposal seeks approval for refurbishment of the existing pump house building along with a side extension to the east.
“The pump house building is proposed to be refurbished and extended to form a new event space.
“The proposals are further supported by associated parking and servicing areas which are proposed to the side and rear.”
