A ROAD in Anderton with Marbury is set to be closed for three weeks to allow gas mains replacement works to be carried out.
Cheshire West and Chester Council has made an order to prohibit traffic along Soot Hill, to the junction of Hough Lane for approximately 80 metres, from August 14.
The closure will not prevent driving on the road for any vehicle which is being used for 'the conveyance of persons, goods or merchandise to or from any premises situated on, or adjacent to, the lengths of road', or in connection with agriculture, building, construction repair works or for emergency vehicles.
It is anticipated that the works will take approximately three weeks to complete.
Traffic should instead proceed via New Road, Marbury Road, Warrington Road, The Avenue, Gibb Hill, Northwich Road, Tarporley Road, Runcorn Road, Soot Hill and vice versa.
