A POPULAR Northwich pub has been awarded Tripadvisor's Travellers' Choice award for being in the top 10 per cent of businesses.
The Vale Royal Abbey Arms on Chester Road has been given the award based on reviews, ratings and saves from millions of travellers and customers across the globe.
And general manager of the pub, Steve Harvey, is delighted that his staff’s work has been recognised, but was rather surprised when the news came through.
“It was a bit of a shock really. “There’s a lot of tough competition around here so you have got to be a bit different", said Steve, who has been at the pub for four years.
“Everybody pulls together. It’s my favourite site I’ve had because the team are absolutely great, they work well together, they help each other out, we’re all a team and we all get on.”
Steve believes his team’s care for the customers is what helps set them apart.
“All my team care about the guests, that’s the main thing. They’re all good, they’re all helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them, they’re a really good team.
“The guests come in happy and we want them to go out saying ‘wow, that was amazing’,” he added.
The pub posted on Facebook: “We are absolutely over the moon to announce that we have been awarded the Trip Advisor’s 2021 Travellers’ Choice Award.”
“We are so proud to have made it into the top 10% of restaurants worldwide.
“Thank you so much to our amazing customers for your continued support that has made this possible.”
