BARNTON were unable to hold on to their lead as they suffered a late home defeat to Wythenshawe FC in the 2021-22 season opener.
Tom Edwards buried the ball under the visiting keeper to hand The Villagers a 63rd minute lead in North West Counties League First Division South.
But Wythenshawe built considerable pressure after that and hit the woodwork twice before Louis White levelled matters with an 81st minute penalty.
Six minutes later Francesco Frangillo netted what proved to be the winner.
