A TWO-DAY summer celebration is back with a weekend jam packed with live acts by talented local artistes.

Knutsford Music Festival takes off on Saturday, August 14 and Sunday, August 15.

Now in its fourth year there will be lots of events despite the festival being scaled down due to the pandemic.

The fringe festival featuring live music hosted by local businesses is expected to be as popular as ever.

Live music will be playing all weekend at Wine and Wallop, Kuckoo, Cheshire House Bar and Grill and The Old Sessions House. A pre-festival event is being hosted at Knutsford Library on Thursday, August 12.

Free music will entertain visitors on the moor throughout the whole weekend.

Acts will include Josie Field, Lucy Wentworth, Oil Ng, Helen Wilson, Alx Green, Megan Dixon Hood, Katie O'Malley and Nicky Phillips.

An exciting four hour event will be staged from 12 noon to 4pm on Saturday, August 14, featuring live music from local performers including the return of Drumroots' African drumming workshops.

For the first time local businesses will be offering food and drink including Tea Room, The Real Fruit Creamery, The Pizza Maker and In The Dog Haus.

Families are encourage to bring along your picnic blankets and make an afternoon of it.

The summer sound of brass music will be echo through the moor from 1pm to 2pm on Sunday, August 15 by City of Chester Brass Band.

Mark Radcliffe’s popular folk nights are back on Friday, August 13 and Saturday, August 14, at St John’s Church due to the increased size of the venue.

Sam Lyon is the special guest on Friday and Amelia Coburn and The Dorman Long will be performing on Saturday.

Tickets for both nights are now on sale priced £15 or £10 for under 16s (must be accompanied by an adult over 18) via the festival website.

Alex Brown, events officer at Knutsford Town Council, said: “We’re so thrilled the festival will be back in 2021. We’ve taken precautions to ensure all events will be safe and fully Covid-19 compliant.
