A NORTHWICH man has come to the aid of a heartbroken dog owner after an appeal to find him.
Alex Templeman launched a desperate appeal on social media to find the 'lovely' man who had taken pictures of her dog Hettie when they met in the Lake District earlier this month.
Little Hettie sadly died on Monday following a vicious attack by an escaped dog in Cheadle Hulme, leaving 22-year-old Alex devastated.
Alex took to Facebook to try and trace the man who had taken some of the final photos of Hettie.
Now thanks to his wife, the man, called Lewis, has been found.
"We are over the moon with the pictures Lewis sent us, they are pictures we will cherish forever. We are thinking of getting some printed so we can put them on display which is just so special for us.
"I’m so grateful for everyone who helped us in our search and for Lewis and Susie who have been so kind in sharing the lovely pictures."
Posting on Facebook, Alex said: "We cannot thank everyone enough for all the shares, comments and lovely messages I have received.
"I have been relaying them to my family all day, we are truly so grateful and amazed by everyone’s help.
"Thank you so so much, we cannot wait to see the pictures of our beautiful Hettie.
"She may have lived a short life, but it was filled with so much love from her family and evidently people around her.
"Our little Hett will never be forgotten. Thank you all again we are so thankful."
In making the appeal, Alex had said: “Hettie was the most loving, loyal, and gorgeous dog, we are utterly heartbroken by the event.
“Everyone who has met her knows how timid and sweet she was and she did not deserve her life to end in this way, especially since she had so much life left in her.
“The man kept feeding her beef from their roast, and he took some pictures of Hettie with his professional-looking camera.
“We are absolutely devastated by the loss. I am hoping to find the kind man and see the pictures he took of Hettie as they were some of her last.
“We got Hettie Christmas Day on 2015 when she was two months old and that was the best Christmas we have ever had and ever will have.
“She will be missed greatly and it will take a long time to get used to her not being around.”
Alex, from Stockport, had a great time at Cartmel Racecourse, where they met the man.
She added: “The memories we have of Cartmel are amazing, however, there are few good quality pictures of Hettie.
“If we managed to find the kind gentleman and retrieve the pictures it would be amazing because it was unknowingly the last holiday we had with Hettie and she had the most amazing time. Those are memories we will treasure forever.”
