THE mum of a year six pupil has paid an extra special thank you to her son's school for its staff's help after his diabetes diagnosis.
Zachary Moores was diagnosed with type one diabetes in October when he was just 10 years old, after having a lengthy cold and feeling extremely lethargic.
Now 11, the Great Budworth Primary School pupil said goodbye to his teachers today, Friday, as he gets ready to move up to secondary school in September.
But not before thanking school staff – Mrs Finney, Mr Hathaway, Mrs Hulley, Mr Holland and Mrs Corradene – for their help.
"He's been quite up and down and it's been quite hard to get his blood sugar levels right," mum Clare said.
"His school have had to manage this during the week and it's not an easy task to manage.
"They have to oversee his insulin dose at school and know the signs of a hypoglycaemia (when your blood glucose level is too low).
"Lots of teachers have played a role in his care at school."
