A STUNNING new rose has been nurtured to help in the fight against dementia.
Award-winning Fryer's Garden Centre and Nursery in Knutsford will donate £1 from the sale of every Down Memory Lane rose to Alzheimer's Society research charity.
The scented peach rose attracted a lot of interest at the RHS Flower Show in Tatton.
Alan Taylor, from Fryer's, said: "It is a lovely rose with a fragrant scent."
This beautiful climbing rose produces bright orange-copper, double blooms against contrasting dark green, glossy foliage.
When fully grown it can reach approximately three to 4.5 metres.
Internationally-renowned Fryer's have been specialising in roses for more than a century and have gained prestigious awards from all over the world.
Arthur Fryer began growing roses commercially on a small plot of land in 1912 and from humble beginnings, his reputation as a supplier of excellent quality roses grew throughout the region.
In 1928 the business relocated to its current site on Manchester Road with more land and more roses.
After the war Arthur was joined by his two sons and together they built up an extensive business, attending all the major flower shows, with their roses gaining further international acclaim.
More than 200 varieties of roses are now available, all grown with a passion to provide the best garden displays.
Fryer's is now part of the Blue Diamond Group which owns 38 garden centres across the UK and Channel Islands.
