WEAVER Hall Museum and Workhouse is getting reading for fun-filled summer, with a whole host of activities for children to enjoy while they are off school.
The museum's displays explore the history of the workhouse, along with Northwich industries such as boatbuilding, chemicals and salt mining.
There are also galleries exploring archaeology, transport and history.
These displays are spread through the rooms of the old workhouse and the stories are told through films, models and eye-catching artefacts.
Throughout the summer holidays, activities will be going ahead for £2 per child:
- July 28 and 29 will see children making clay gargoyles.
- August 4 and 5 involved bringing along a photograph of yourself to turn into a super character.
- Children will be building models of their dream holiday on August 11 and 12.
- August 18 and 19 will see pop bottle rockets launch into the sky.
- Key rings and zip pulls are on the list for August 25 and 26.
All materials will be provided (except pop bottles), and activities run for 45 minutes, starting on the hour.
Due to limited numbers, activities will need to be booked and paid for in advance.
Bookings can be made on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturday afternoons by calling 01606 271640.
