AROUND £49,000 of cannabis was seized near the M6 in Cheshire last weekend after a vehicle was stopped by police.
A quantity of what is believed to be cannabis was found in car which travelled on the M6 northbound between junction 16 and 17 before police initiated a stop on the A556 Northwich bypass on Saturday.
Paul Birch, aged 53, of Chatwood Road in Manchester, has been charged with possession with intent to supply cannabis.
He was remanded and appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on Sunday, July 4.
Posting on Twitter, the force said: "Approximately £49,000 of cannabis was seized on the M6 on Saturday, thanks to the excellent work of our Cheshire Police Roads and Crime Unit who continue to patrol our borders in a bid to prevent criminals travelling into Cheshire to commit organised crime."
