GREAT-grandparents from Northwich who are 'as in in love now as the day they met' have celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary.
Brian Clare and Joyce Gibson married on July 1, 1961 at Weaverham Methodist Church.
Now aged 81 and 79 and still living in Weaverham, they have two children, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Daughter Dawn Hall said: "Mum used to work at Chester Tobacconist in Witton Street and had been watching my dad walk past.
"She told a friend she thought he was 'a bit of alright'.
"Her friend told my dad who came in the shop to ask her out.
"Their first date was in Weaverham at the fair on carnival day and the rest is history.
"They say that being able to laugh with each other through good and bad times and giving my mum his pay packet is the key to a long happy marriage."
