A MAN has died at Pickmere Lake in Cheshire.
Police believe he is a 38-year-old man from Widnes.
Emergency services were called to the beauty spot at around 5.45pm yesterday following reports of that a man had gone missing while swimming in Pickmere Lake.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "Searches were made by Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service and the police Under Water Search Unit who located the body of a man at 8.24pm.
"The body is believed to be that of a 38-year-old man from Widnes.
"It is believed there are no suspicious circumstances and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
Roads in the area were closed as police, paramedics and firefighters attended the scene.
A spokesman for North West Ambulance said: “We were called to Moss Lane Marston at 17.33pm yesterday following reports of someone in the water.
“Our response included our Hazardous Area Response Team , two ambulances and three response vehicles.”
Villagers in Wincham posted: "It is with deep sadness that we have to let you know that last night a young man lost his life at Pickmere Lake.
"All our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. Many thanks to all the emergency and rescue services who worked so hard."
