THE Met Office are warning of thunderstorms hitting Cheshire this week.
A yellow weather warning has been issued for Wednesday, covering Northwich, Winsford, Middlewich and Knutsford, and is in force from 6pm until 6am on Friday morning.
The storms follow more hot weather as the temperature is set to soar beyond 20°C on Tuesday, reaching a high of around 23°.
A Met Office spokesman said: "Tuesday will see a dry start with sunny spells through the morning.
"It will feel warmer with plenty of sunny spells during the afternoon and into evening. Cloud will increase overnight, with some outbreaks of rain. Maximum temperature 23°C.
"It will be cloudier on Wednesday with patchy outbreaks of rain.
"Risk of heavy, perhaps thundery showers overnight into Thursday with largely cloudy skies during day.
"Sunny spells and maybe showers on Friday."
